  • Residential Estimator/Project Manager

    Summary:

    The Estimator / Project Manager will be responsible for job site inspections, bid preparation, quantity project material take-offs, subcontractor bid solicitations, and overall project management duties and oversight for residential applications. The ability to exercise sound judgment in a variety of situations is critical in promoting the firm's goodwill and future business prospects. This position reports to the President.   


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs walk-thru and site inspection to determine time & materials needed to prepare residential estimates.  
    • Inspects existing residences & systems and can identify deficiencies and/or upgrades needed to repair and/or install new or replacement residential HVAC systems. 
    • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying scopes of work, proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
    • Resolves discrepancies that arise during ongoing work as needed.
    • Prepares internal budget estimate worksheets based on existing company pricing structures.
    • Presents prepared estimates/ proposals with detailed descriptions and pricing information to residential customers. 
    •  Obtains customer authorization/acceptance of a proposal and confirms receipt of down payment before commencing work to be performed.
    • Obtains required permits and subcontractor services and ensures all deadlines are met and final inspections are completed.
    • Manages all required contract documents and project files to ensure complete and accurate recordkeeping and that the project is completed within budget and on schedule.
    • Prepares change orders as needed and obtains authorization/acceptance before commencing work.
    • Handles equipment ordering, preparing job materials lists, and delivery methods to job sites.
    • Establishes and maintains relationships with owner and/or agency personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and request positive reviews and future business referrals.
    •  Actively seeks new business and develops new business relationships.
    • Assists in determining warranty and goodwill decisions.
    • Makes and communicates critical decisions consistently with leadership, integrity, and urgency.
    • Works with office staff in a supportive and productive manner to ensure timely service and customer billing.
    • Other duties as assigned.  

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum 2-3 years experience preparing comprehensive estimates for residential applications.  
    • Minimum 5 years of HVAC field experience.
    • Familiar with standard construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
    • Ability to read plans and specifications to complete the prescribed duties.
    • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously.
    • Must have experience in conceptual estimates and negotiation skills.
    • Possess working knowledge of all construction divisions and the ability to generate accurate scope of work and pricing based on limited information.
    • Exceptional motivational and communication skills are required for dealing with employees, owners, architects, engineers, buyers, and project subcontractors.     
    • Consistently demonstrate good judgment, strong character, ethics, and high standards of performance and professionalism.   
    • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
    • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

    Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit in a vehicle for extended periods while traveling to job sites and/or at a desk; stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, climb ladders; use hands and fingers with repetitive motion to operate a keyboard for computer applications and a calculator. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear conversations over the phone and in person. The employee is regularly exposed to working in an office environment with an attached shop, working under fluorescent lights, and being exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery, fumes, airborne particles, and loud noise levels. Employees must drive to multiple job sites and pick up and/or transport parts and materials. 


    Rate & Benefits: $65,000 & Above DOE.

    Includes dental insurance & membership with medical provider/ urgent care facility after 90 days of employment. 401k benefits after the first year of employment.

    The first 90 days of employment will be a training and probationary period during which the pay rate will be at a lesser amount. After the initial 90 days and acceptance of the offer, the rate will increase based on performance to a negotiated rate between the employee and the company.

  • Lead HVAC Installer

    Summary:

    This is a hands-on supervisory position for a lead HVAC Installer that provides leadership and direction to lower-level HVAC installers and sheet metal workers.   The incumbent is responsible for on-site project management and day-to-day decisions related to the new construction, rehabilitation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems pursuant to the scope of work specified in the project contracts and in accordance with the company's high standards of quality work and service. The Foreman reports to the President and/or the Estimator/Project Manager.       

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provides on-site supervision and quality control of the accurate and efficient dismantling and removal of existing HVAC systems.
    • Oversees the installation of all new HVAC systems and sheet metal ductwork.  
    • Responsible for time management of jobs scheduled each day.
    • Forecasts material needs, install issues, and conflicts with other trades to mitigate delays and/or downtime.
    • Attends scheduled meetings at the project site to discuss job progression, change orders, etc. 
    •  Coordinates with subcontractors and vendors regarding equipment and material deliveries.
    • Ensures the project team accurately records labor on timesheets for respective projects for job costing purposes.
    • Submits packing slips, invoices, and other job-related supporting documentation to the accounting department daily and/or weekly for timely recordkeeping.
    • Secures parts and tools needed throughout the day for various jobs as required.  
    • Reports change order requests and unanticipated issues that arise to the President and/or Estimator as needed. 
    • Ensures project progression is on schedule pursuant to the terms and conditions of the contract.
    • Leads, coaches, and supervises an effective team by setting and achieving project goals.   
    • Provides on-site safety training and identifies safety hazards, taking corrective action to ensure compliance with OSHA laws and regulations to mitigate job-related injuries. Immediately report any job-related injuries to the Office Manager.  
    • Exercises sound judgment when taking appropriate action to condemn faulty equipment.
    • Maintains truck stock inventory within the prescribed company guidelines and standards.
    • Adheres to fleet maintenance schedules, reports vehicle repair needs, and maintains a clean and organized truck that represents the corporation in a positive and professional manner.
    • Performs all duties with integrity and a sense of urgency per the corporation's high customer service standards to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat/referral business.
    • Works in and out of the county as assigned to job sites.
    • Complies with corporate uniform requirements. 
    • Other duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Minimum 10 years of field experience in HVAC installation, service, and repair; 3 years as a Lead.
    • EPA certification is required. 
    • Ability to supervise, coach, and train others and monitor their job performance.  
    • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
    • Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment.  
    • Accurately read plans, drawings, and schematics to ensure quality workmanship.
    • Ability to plan and schedule the work of others to meet job progression deadlines.
    • Ability to work variable hours, including overtime and weekends, to meet the needs of the business. 
    • Ability to travel out of the county for extended periods through completion of projects.  
    • Consistently demonstrate good judgment, strong character, ethics, and high standards of performance and professionalism.

  • Sheet Metal Worker/Installer

    Summary:

    Installs heating and air conditioning systems for commercial and residential. The Sheet metal worker / Installer reports to the HVAC Foreman on the job site. 

      

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Installs new or replacement HVAC systems and sheet metal ductwork for commercial and residential applications.  
    • Works independently or with a project team, dismantling and removing existing HVAC systems as needed 
    • Measures and assists with the fabrication of ductwork and installs all equipment accessories.
    • Performs high and low-voltage electrical tie-ins on furnaces, air handlers, and air conditioners.  
    • Braze and solder copper tubing for refrigerant piping and/or condensate drains.
    • Test equipment operations to ensure proper equipment functioning. 
    • Performs all duties with integrity and a sense of urgency per the corporation's high customer service standards to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat/referral business.
    • Works in and out of the county as assigned.  
    • Complies with corporate uniform requirements. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Minimum 1-2 years of HVAC field experience. 
    • Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment.
